Self Study 4 Game Ideas

Game 1:

Describe:

A 2.5D adventure puzzle game, with a clear story line, the main way to play is to solve the puzzle to unlock the truth of the story

Level Design and Gameplay;

Mixed game level design, 2.5D game, some levels may be 3D or 2D, most importantly the map transition is not too abrupt when switching from 2.5D to 3D or 2D. (The 2.5D portion should be the majority, with 3D and 2D only appearing on specific levels), There will be no weapons to fight against, most of which will require the player to navigate through the map elements.

For example, the map of the little nightmare is an entire house,

The little Nightmare map design is in line with my idea of continuous maps, and as the player explores the map, he learns more and gets closer to the final goal of solving the puzzle.

Operating:

WSAD controls movement, space bar jump -----If it is 2.5D, then WS may not be needed.

Target Audience:

If the graphics are good enough and the story is compelling enough, the target audience will be very broad (like Little Nightmare and Monument Valley), and if the graphics are simple and the story is simple enough, the target audience will be children

Game 2

Describe:

Just like what I did in self study4, a 3D first person shooter similar to Contra,  There will be a heroic storyline, but the storyline will certainly not be the main one

Level Design and Gameplay:

Use firearms to attack, kill monsters while evading monster attacks, gain treasures, etc.

There are different enemies and different guns, similar to Metal Slug, where you can get new guns by killing special monsters or saving NPCS:

Two of my favorite weapons in Metal Slug, picture is from: https://baijiahao.baidu.com/s?id=1612107772312009177&wfr=spider&for=pc

The player will find a Boss at the end of the level, defeat it and move on to the next area.

Operating:

WSAD, space to jump and Left mouse button or J to shot

Target Audience:

The target audience is generally people who like shooting games and want to have fun with them, which I think is about 15-25 years old, maybe boys.

Success or failure?

It's hard to tell, because now  everyone's game centre of gravity is began to shift to mobile phone games, so in this case, a good computer game must have a good story line, beautiful music, or frank hit feeling, so that people can be immersed in the world of the game,Some of the games I've found most interesting in recent years have mostly met these three rules.

With this in mind, my first game chose to focus on the storyline, the decrypts, and the music, while my second game chose a simple but refreshing experience of killing enemies.
